Guidelines for abstract submission
We are inviting abstract submissions for the 12th International Symposium on Atopic Dermatitis.
Abstracts for oral and poster presentations will represent the core of the scientific program at ISAD 2022. Abstracts pertaining to human atopic dermatitis and related fields including animal models are appropriate.
Abstracts will be accepted via the online submission system only (email submissions will not be accepted). The deadline to submit your abstract is May 30, 2022. The official language of ISAD 2022 is English.
Submit
your late-breaking abstract
A condition of acceptance is that the presenting author must register for the conference (in-person or virtually). Confirmation of registration must be received by Monday, July 18, 2022 in order for the abstract to advance to the Final Program.
Oral presentations will be presented live, in real time. As this will be a hybrid conference (virtual and in-person), accepted oral presenters will have the choice to present her/his oral presentation in-person in Montréal or virtually via your laptop/PC. Virtual presenters must have access to a computer with camera and audio and a strong Wi-Fi or wired internet connection. The time zone of all presentations will be Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), (visit the time converter).
Oral presenters must confirm if s/he will attend in-person or virtually by August 31, 2022.
Publication agreement
Authors of accepted abstracts grant ISAD, its agents and representatives the right to use their names and abstracts in promotional and other materials published in relation to the annual conference. The abstracts will be published online in Acta Dermato-Venereological medical journal.

Late-breaking abstracts
Submissions for late-breaking abstracts will open in June 2022. A late-breaking abstract should contain new information that was not yet known or fully available by the abstract submission deadline, May 30, 2022. The data in the abstract must not be published prior to the meeting. The late-breaking abstract deadline is not an extension of the abstract submission deadline. The deadline for Late-Breaking abstract submission will be announced shortly.
Statement of Responsibility
- The author(s) agree to comply with the abstract submission and presentation rules.
- All co-authors must agree with the submitted results and conclusions, and consent to being listed as authors.
- The abstract must not have been submitted in identical format to any international meeting prior to October 17, 2022.
- The author(s) confirm that the presentation is based on scientific and/or clinical methods that are ethical and valid.

Abstract format
Abstract submissions will be reviewed for presentations in one of two formats:
- oral presentation in the main program,
- or poster presentation (via e-poster)
Please indicate your preferred presentation format. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request based on considerations regarding space availability and conference program themes. Please indicate in the online submission form if you will consider a poster presentation in the event your abstract is not selected for an oral presentation.
Abstract topics
All abstracts submitted must address one of the conference topics for inclusion in the program. When submitting an abstract, please select the topic that your abstract most accurately applies to from the list below.

In addition, please describe accurately your abstract content with 2 or 3 keywords from the provided list: genetics, skin barrier, immunology, microbiote, mechanism of disease, animal models, biomarkers, child, prevention, education, trial, outcome measures, diagnosis, comorbidities, therapy, innovative technology, itch, pain.
Abstract adjudication and timeline
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by ISAD Scientific Committee members. Notice of abstract adjudication will be provided Monday, June 27, 2022. Initial correspondence will be addressed to the submitting author. After acceptance, all correspondence will be directed to the designated presenting author only, unless otherwise requested.
Oral presentations will take place live in Montréal, Québec during scheduled sessions based on Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). E-Posters will be available online via the virtual conference platform. E-poster submission guidelines will be sent by Monday, July 25, 2022. The online e-poster submission site will open on Monday, August 1, 2022, and close Monday, September 12, 2022. Late submissions or changes after closing date will not be accepted.
Presenting authors not registered by Monday, July 18, 2022 will forfeit both their invitation to present and have her/his abstract included in the conference platform. Changing presenters to another author is allowed prior to this date. Changes of presenting authors must be made in writing to ISAD-program@simplyeventful.com.
Abstract submission process
Abstracts will only be accepted via the online submission system at on our platform.
Abstracts sent via email or mail will not be accepted.
- First create an account on the ISAD Platform if you do not own one, then sign-in and submit your abstract
- An email acknowledgement of receipt of your submission(s) will be sent automatically to the submitting author upon completion of the online submission. Abstracts must be written and presented in English.
Submitting authors and/or presenters may modify their submission(s) until the closing date of Monday, May 30, 2022 at 5:00 pm EDT. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
Abstracts selected for poster or oral presentations in ISAD 2022 program will be reproduced exactly as submitted and substitutions will not be permitted. Be sure to proofread your abstract very carefully before submitting.
Abstract guidelines
Length | Limit your abstracts to no more than 1600 characters (count includes spaces but does not include the title or authors). |
Title | Use a concise descriptive title that indicates the content of the abstract. Please minimize the use of abbreviations in the title. Commercial trade names for drugs, devices, products and services may NOT be used in the title. |
Authors | Names and surnames for each author must be provided, each author should be listed by department, institution, city, and country. Do not include degrees or titles. |
Presenting and corresponding author’s names are indicated in the separate section of the online form. | |
Abstract body | Do not include tables/charts, graphics or images in your abstract. Drugs, devices, products, and services should be identified by generic name only within the abstract. Refer to generic names rather than brand names. Only common and standard abbreviations may be used without definition. The body of the abstract should be formatted with the following five sections: 1. Introduction/Background (mandatory) 2. Objective (optional for clinical case) 3.
