Effective care for atopic dermatitis (AD) should not be a privilege. Everyone living with AD should have access to essential, safe and affordable treatment, from basic skin care and moisturizers to the medicines required for adequate disease control. The recent inclusion of low-cost emollients for AD in the WHO Essential Medicines List is an important step, but equitable access to the full spectrum of effective AD care must remain our goal.
