Scam Alert: Accommodation in Melbourne

Dear invited Participants of the next RAJKA-ISAD Melbourne 2025,

We’ve received reports of a scam targeting our conference attendees.

The scammer is sending emails that appear to be from a conference’s “reservation team” and are designed to look like legitimate reminders for hotel bookings.

If your accommodation is covered:

How to spot the scam:

  • Urgency and Pressure:
The emails use language like “Final Reminder” to create a sense of urgency and pressure you into clicking a link quickly.
  • External Links:
The emails contain links that lead to external sites, such as app.pandadoc.com. Do not click on these links. Official conference communications will direct you to a secure, known website or provide a legitimate contact number.
  • Vague Information:
The emails are often vague and do not mention the specific conference name, dates, or location. They just refer to your “upcoming conference.”
  • Phony Sender:
The email address, coordination@converiatravel.com, is designed to look like a real travel or coordination service, but it’s a fake. Always check the sender’s full email address.
  • Personal Information Request:
The scammer’s goal is to get your personal and payment information through the fake form.

If you have received an email like this, do not respond or click any links. Please forward the email to us so we can track and report it.

All official communication regarding conference accommodations will come directly from our official conference email address (@isad.org).

If you have any doubts, please contact us directly through the official conference website.

With kind regards,

Laurent
