Guidelines for the presentations

Presentation types

The Abstract Sessions of the Georg RAJKA International Symposium of Atopic Dermatitis give maximum exposure to the scientific work and allows interaction between Authors and interested Congress participants. As a presenter, you play a key role in this effort.

All presentations must be IN PERSON ; presenting remotely is not possible.

  • ORAL
    Oral presentation in the main program:
    Presenter notes are available during your presentation (PowerPoint only), just notify the desk that you need them at check-in.
  • POSTER
    Oral presentation in the poster sessions:
    Presenter is required to be present during the entire session.
  • DISPLAY
    Slideshow without oral presentation:
    The slideshow will be displayed on screens only; do not print your poster!
    If you can not attended, your presentation will be demoted to “display” even if selected as Oral or Poster.

All types of presentation are under embargo and will be published in ActaDV the day of the meeting.

Presentation should include:

Number of slides:

  • Oral communication in Scientific Sessions: you are free, please respect the duration allocated.
  • Oral poster presentations: max 12 slides (including title slide)
    ➜ time for presentation is 5 minutes, including Q&A
  • Slideshow without presentations: max 8 slides (including title slide)

The title slide (slide 1):

  • Title of the poster/research on the first slide
  • The author’s data, co-authors’ data and their affiliations on the first slide
  • The Learning Objective of the Presentation
  • The Takeaway Message of the Poster (recommended)
  • A declaration of Conflict of Interest for the authors (recommended)
  • Contact details, so that interested delegates can contact authors, QRcode possible (recommended)
  • The title slide may also contain the logo or logos of the authors institutions if desired, but these should be kept small and unobtrusive. Please do not put anything else on the first slide.
  • Start the actual poster content on the second slide.

Technical details

Case of a Video presentation

Please provide a MP4 (AVC H.264 / HEVC H.265) file with sound
Resolution: 1920 × 1080 pixels (HD)

  • File type is Microsoft PowerPoint
    You can also provide a PDF for control
  • Your file needs to be named:
    abstract-number_author-name-&-surname_title.pptx (no space, no accent, no special character)
  • Presentation should be prepared:
    as size 16 x 9 and resolution 1920 x 1080 px
  • Use a clear typeface:
    14 to 18 points font size, sans-serif recommended as Helvetica, Arial, Verdana (no Times New Roman).
  • Charts, drawings, and illustrations may be included as long as there is a copyright permission to use them. Remember to keep illustrated and written material simple.
  • We ask all authors to ensure there are no identifiable features in patient photographs, such as faces, jewelry, tattoos. If the patient described in the presentation is identifiable, written patient permission must be obtained. Omitting these features or obscuring them, to de-identify patients is acceptable.
  • Videos should be no more than 720 x 540 pixels, and should run for no more than 120 seconds.
    Do not include more than two videos in a poster.
  • Slide transitions will be set by the system so please do not include slide transitions in your file. Intra-slide animations or transitions should be avoided and used only if necessary to convey required information.

STEP 1/2: NAMING & PACKAGING YOUR FILES

Name your file as #reference_Given-name-of-presenter-FAMILY-NAME-OF-PRESENTER_title-of-the-presentation.pptx
➜ Example: #83_Hugh-JACKMAN_my-best-stuff-on-AD.pptx
➜ If you need to send multiple files for one presentation, please send a single zip archive
➜ If your file contains video, please indicate it when sending (in the email)

STEP 2/2: STARTING OCTOBER 18th, TWO ACTIONS ARE NEEDED:

  • Bring your presentation on a USB stick to the speaker’s room of the congress; if you do not follow this step, your slideshow will not be available for your presentation.
  • Send the file to callforabstract@isad.org (Laurent) if less than 20 Mo
    Otherwise please use a swisstransfer tool and target it to the same email address (callforabstract@isad.org).

Acknowledgement

After a manual check, we will acknowledge reception under 3 days by email.

Warnings

  • Display of commercial/product sales posters is prohibited. Any poster that is deemed to be a commercial advertisement will be removed from the virtual meeting.
  • It is prohibited to use in educational posters and presentations of any logo from any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by or used on patients. Logos of academic institutions are allowed.

Cancellation of poster presentation

To prevent empty presentation viewing, please inform us by e-mail (cf. contact presentation below), if you are unable to present your presentation.
